Halloween Party

On Friday we are going to be having a Halloween party in the afternoon. The students will have the choice to watch a movie in Ms Shklar's room or played board games in my room. They are asked to bring in any board games from home that they may want to play that afternoon. If you are able to send in any snacks or drinks for the class it would be greatly appreciated.

Forms

To all Parents:

Could you put any forms, notes, cheques, or envelopes that are being brought to school in the front of the agenda. I check the agendas every day and this will help us keep better track of everything that is brought to and from school. If a form is still in the agenda it will be because I had a supply teacher in for me that day. Thanks.

Where the Wild Things Are

On Friday afternoon we are going to see Where the Wild Things Are. The film will be starting at the end of our lunch hour so each student has been asked to make sure that they bring a lunch that they can eat at school. We will be returning before the end of the school day.

No Spelling

With the shortened week, we are not going to have a spelling quiz this week. The next spelling pre-test will be on Monday Oct 19th.

Boomerang Lunches

“Boomerang” lunches are those that consist of absolutely no garbage! Every piece of the student’s lunch that is not consumed is returned home. This includes any leftover food, containers, recyclables, even garbage. The purpose of the “Boomerang Lunch Program” is to increase awareness in our students as to the amount of waste generated in one day’s lunch. Furthermore the program will encourage and enforce the use of reusable containers and eradicate disposable ones, thus helping to do our part in reducing the amount of garbage produced in our school. We will begin “Boomerang” lunches on Tuesday, October 13, 2009!

Grade 3 Gives Thanks

We are organizing a Grade 3 food drive for Thanksgiving this year. It is asked that each student try to bring in two non-perishable food items before Friday. The items will be collected outisde of the classroom and dropped off on Friday evening.
